IntegratED With Jamie Palmer - A podcast for online entrepreneurs

Oct 3, 2019

In September, we celebrated the 16th year in business and my 16th year running Outlier Marketing Group. We celebrated all the amazing things that have happened through those 16 years and the growth that I’ve seen throughout the company in that time. For my 16 years in business, I wanted to share 16 lessons that I’ve learned along the way in business! It has been a rollercoaster ride.

Lesson #1 – Trust your gut. For me, it took a long time to learn this lesson. I’m a slow learner when it comes to trusting my gut and believing that my higher self will lead me in the right direction. I encourage you to learn to trust the gut instincts that you have around what’s working and what’s not working. You are super powerful when it comes to knowing what you should and shouldn’t do!

Lesson #2 – Start before you’re ready. When it comes to putting yourself out there, being authentic, launching a new product or service, it’s all about taking a risk and starting before you feel like it. This is also super true when it comes to hiring people to work with you. For a decade I had the mentality that it was faster to do the work myself than to hire someone, and it stunted my business from growing. Hire someone before you feel like you have to! Lesson

#3 – Work with always be there. This has become more and more prevalent for me, especially since I had my children. With messages, emails, or client requests there is always going to be something that you need to answer, so don’t worry about answering immediately. It’s super easy to neglect your personal life, so just now that work will always be there.

These are just a few of the 16 lessons that I’ve learned throughout my years in business as an entrepreneur. Want to know the rest? Tune into this episode!
