IntegratED With Jamie Palmer - A podcast for online entrepreneurs

Aug 15, 2019

Who has felt like they’ve been spinning their wheels but getting nowhere recently?

I’ve been speaking to a lot of my clients who feel like they’re struggling to move forward and are trading dollars for hours. I noticed this happens a lot in the third quarter of the month, and I wanted to talk to you about how I manage my time and planning so that I can always be moving forward in a meaningful way. When I think about how I was able to grow the business in the last year and stay sane despite all the chaos, it’s all been about scheduling my time so that I’m focused on the work that I’m doing.

The first thing that we do is a yearly, a quarterly, and monthly planning with the team as a whole, and they all go on the calendar for everyone to see. We set the process that we want to follow and the impact that we want to have for that year. Everything that I do and plan around the business and the marketing is based on working towards that number. Then we take it and break it down so that we can figure out the quarterly and monthly activities that need to happen in order for us to reach that goal. It’s important to goal set realistically and work on them on a regular basis.

For myself personally, I like to use my Best Self Planner because it lets you choose 3 quarterly goals that you break down into monthly and weekly tasks for yourself. For example, one of our goals is to launch a new opt-in, which means that we can take that larger goal and break it down into the different steps that need to get done each day. To me, there are two different buckets of tasks that you have to do on a daily basis. There are things that come up that are part of running a business (such as managing payroll, paying bills, etc.), and there are things that you need to do if you want to grow your business. Using a planner is one of the ways that I stay focused on growing my business, but if you want to hear them all make sure to tune in!
