If you want to own your own business, you’re going to have to be the one to make the hard decisions. It can be overwhelming to try and stay in alignment with what you want for your business. So how can you identify that a decision is in alignment with your goals?

There are a ton of hard decisions you have to make in business, whether that’s firing a client, an employee, killing a product or service that isn’t selling, or even choosing what direction that you want to go in. I recently had to make a hard decision around letting go of a big client, because it just wasn't working out. There’s a lot of logic and some gut instinct that goes into making decisions like this. We usually miss the big red flags that are telling us to get out of there ASAP. I’m going to go over some of the symptoms that you may see that are telling you to leave the relationship.

One of the first red flags is a lot of noise that’s completely unnecessary. Another way to know is if you have to repeatedly explain a process over and over again or re-do work constantly. I’ve worked with clients where they have a lack of movement and aren’t growing their business at all. They aren’t following the processes and systems that helped me grow my business, they’re always wanting exceptions, and they’re constantly dropping the ball on deadlines. These are all things that I’ve had to deal with before that showed me that they weren't an ideal client for me. I feel like this is something that has come up at multiple points throughout my business. Time and time again I’ve run into clients who I had to say goodbye to because they were no longer my ideal client. I’m going to share with you how I figure out whether or not it’s the right time to fire or let go of a client, so make sure to tune in!
